For the second successive year, injuries impacted the experienced midfielder’s ability to get on the field. Was limited to just four games at AFL level due to a combination of a quad injury in a pre-season game and then an achilles issue in the middle of the season. Made a comeback via the VFL late in the year but the Cats erred on the side of caution and he did not play in either final. Given he has played just 10 games in the past two seasons, Guthrie’s return will be crucial to the Cats’ on-ball set-up. Will become an unrestricted free agent this year.
