Newton’s arrival at West Coast adds a burst of power and pace to the Eagles’ forward and midfield rotations. Selected with pick No.9 in the 2025 Mid-Season Rookie Draft, the 179cm Norwood product impressed with his explosive speed, contested ball-winning ability, and tidy left-foot kicking. After an injury-interrupted draft year in 2024, Newton bounced back strongly in the SANFL, kicking seven goals across four senior games and showcasing his versatility as a small forward-mid. His tenacity at the contest and ability to break lines make him a dynamic addition to the squad, with the 19-year-old poised to make an impact in the blue and gold as he continues his development at AFL level.
